Dear Parents with 9th grade students in the parish,
This year we are officially designating the 9th grade class as Confirmation Preparation, a one year program for candidates.
Please check your own calendars, and mark our beginning session: Sunday September 30th, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the parish hall in Orleans. This will be dinner for all, with an essential introduction to parents and students of how to engage in the weekly activities of the program.
We will continue with a well-liked format from last year: monthly in depth sessions, and weekly discussion at home of the Church’s social teachings as laid out for the consideration of youth in the DoCat Social Justice Catechism. The second Sunday of each month from 6:00 to 8:00 is the class.
Please consider helping and being involved in this program, to facilitate a more mature engagement of our youth as messengers of good news, in a world that is suffering greatly, to the proliferation of bad news. My parish and Diocesan responsibilities this year are overwhelming, and I am not finding time to do each of them justice. Please consider volunteering for a number of evening sessions. We always need two official parish volunteers at our sessions.
Please RSVP to Casey, our parish confirmation program coordinator, and also tell her if you can help put together dinner (boyleeldridge@vtlink.net). Two parents? Student and one parent? Whole family? Etc.
We have a saintly mother in heaven who will be taking care of us the whole year through, and our entire lives. Ave Maria. Ora Pro Nobis.
God bless you all.
Fr. Tim Naples, Pastor
